Lory Martinez is a Colombian-American creative content strategist from Queens, NYC, currently based in Paris, France.
She is the Founder of Studio Ochenta, an award-winning multilingual podcast studio dedicated to raising voices across cultures. She started the company from scratch, with no investors, just her savings and a dream. She built the brand to be a respected multilingual creative studio with a strong mission to preserve culture and language. Over the company’s 6-year run, she served as business lead, executive producer, and creative lead for 6-figure digital content marketing projects. Her branding strategy led to the company being featured in international press as well as numerous awards for innovation, creativity and digital reach.
But in 2025, she sensed the need to pivot. Podcasting had changed so much since she started, the industry she loved was struggling. Amazing content was going unseen, or unmade because of shifts in media consumption. She didn’t want to just start making more video content, she wanted to make real change, helping founders like herself find their communities and grow their personal brands too.
So, she started consulting with small business owners, freelancers, and women like herself, who had a story to tell, and needed the right tools to transform them into viable marketable businesses with a clear message.
Starting September 2025, she opened a new project: “Ochenta Bloom”. A brand consulting service that helps founders and creators bloom from tiny seeds to full blown bouquets, just like she had grown Ochenta, she wanted to help others grow too.
In addition to consulting on brand strategy, she hosts and produces Mija, a podcast and substack channel that discusses questions around identity and culture for 1st and second generation immigrants in Spanish and English. You can subscribe to the substack here and listen in English, French or Spanish here.
